PENERAPAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING BERBASIS HIGHER ORDER THINKING SKILLS UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MATEMATIKA PADA MATERI STATISTIKA SMP PLUS ASY SYUKUR SEMBON

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh permasalahan proses pembelajaran di SMP Plus Asy Syukur Sembon yang masih menggunakan metode konvensional akibatnya banyak siswa yang menjadi kurang aktif saat pembelajaran sehingga tidak memahami tentang materi atau permasalahan yang sedang diberikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model Problem Based Learning berbasis Higher Order Thinking Skills dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika pada materi statistika SMP Plus Asy Syukur Sembon. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Penelitian ini terdiri dari satu siklus dengan 2 kali pertemuan, dan setiap siklusnya terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari 20 peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Plus Asy Syukur Sembon. Pemilihan lokasi penelitian didasari oleh hasil pengamatan yang peneliti lakukan secara langsung pada saat observasi dilapangan. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan observasi dan tes. Hasil evaluasi akhir siklus menggunakan ketuntasan individual dan klasikal kemudian dideskripsikan, sedangkan jumlah soal tes evaluasi sebanyak 2 soal uraian. Dari hasil penelitian ini diperoleh tes akhir sikluus dengan ketuntasan klasikal belajar siswa sebesar 90%. Hasil observasi sebesar aktivitas guru pada pertemua ke-1 memperoleh 85,5% dan pertemuan ke-2 memeroleh 88,5% sehingga didapat rata-ratanya adalah 87% dengan kategori sangat baik. Sedangkan hasil observasi aktivitas siswa pada pertemuan ke-1 memperoleh 83,3% dan pertemuan ke-2 memperoleh 87,05% sehingga didapat rata-ratanya adalah 85,1% dengan kategori baik. This study aims to describe the application of the Problem-Based Learning Model Based on Higher-Level Thinking Skills to improve mathematics learning outcomes in statistics material at SMP Plus Asy Syukur Sembon. This type of research is Classroom Action Research. This study consisted of one cycle with 2 meetings, and each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The subjects of this study consisted of 20 students of class VIII SMP Plus Asy Syukur Sembon. The selection of the research location was based on the results of observations that the researchers made directly during field observations. Data collection is done by observation and tests. The results of the evaluation at the end of the cycle using individual and classical mastery were then described, while the number of evaluation test questions was 2 description questions. From the results of this study, it was obtained that the final cycle test with classical student learning completeness was 90%. The observation results of teacher activity at the 1st meeting obtained 85.5% and the 2nd meeting obtained 88.5% so that the average obtained was 87% with a very good category. While the results of observations of student activity at the 1st meeting obtained 83.3% and the 2nd meeting obtained 87.05% so that the average obtained was 85.1% in the good category.
