Abstract
Abstract: This article explores the use of English complements in Time-Life Books of fourteen topics. Twenty sentences were taken out of the seven selected Time-Life books. The exploration is significant for the teaching of syntax, grammar, reading and writing skills. The findings show that there are eight complement type and noun phrases occupy the first rank or 52,94%. This implies that complement type, especially noun phrase, should be the focus in the teaching and learning activities. Key words: structure, complements, Time-Life Books Abstrak: Artikel ini menyelidiki penggunaan komplemen dalam bahasa Inggris in Time-Life Books yang memuat empat belas topik. Penyelidikan terhadap dua puluh kalimat dari tujuh buku Time-Life yang terseleksi berguna bagi pengajaran sintaksis, tatabahasa, keterampilan membaca dan menulis. Temuan menunjukkan delapan tipe komplemen dengan FN sebanyak 52,94%. Implikasinya ialah bahwa FN sebagai tipe komplemen seharusnya menjadi fokus kegiatan pengajaran dan pembelajaran.
