PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE STAD UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MAHASISWA

Abstract

Abstrak: Pembelajaran pada materi akar-akar persamaan karakteristik selama ini kurang memperhatikan aspek pemahaman konsep mahasiswa. Salah satu pembelajaran yang menekankan pada keterampilan pemahaman konsep adalah pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Pengkondisian kelas dalam STAD diharapkan dapat membantu mahasiswa untuk pemahaman konsep. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menerapkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD yang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep pada materi akar-akar persamaan karakteristik bagi mahasiswa prodi Pendidikan Matematika.Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan pada mahasiswa tingkat V di STKIP PGRI Blitar tahun akademik 2009/2010. Pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD meliputi kegiatan presentasi kelas, tim belajar dengan mempelajari LKM yang dapat membantu mahasiswa meningkatkan pemahaman konsep, dan kuis. The purpose of this study was to apply the type STAD cooperative learning to improve the understanding of the concept of the material roots of the characteristic equation for student study program Mathematics Education. Action research was conducted at the student level V in STKIP PGRI Blitar academic year 2009/2010. Type STAD cooperative learning activities include classroom presentations, the team learned by studying microfinance institutions can help students improve understanding of concepts, and quizzes.
