IMPLEMENTASI METODE PEMBELAJARAN PEER TEACHING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN ANTUSIAS BELAJAR MAHASISWA DALAM MATA KULIAH KOMPUTER TERAPAN II

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan antusias mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Komputer Terapan II melalui penerapan metode pembelajaran Peer Teaching. Pendekatan penelitian adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dikembangkan oleh Kemmis dan Mc Taggart yang diterapkan pada mahasiswa tingkat III dengan jumlah 20 orang. Penelitian yang dilakukan terdiri dari dua siklus dengan dua kali pertemuan setiap siklusnya. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes hasil, belajar dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode pembelajaran Peer Teaching pada mata kuliah Komputer Terapan II dapat meningkatkan antusias belajar mahasiswa. Rata-rata persentase dalam bentuk sikap mahasiswa terhadap proses belajar, materi, cara dosen menyampaikan materi, pemahaman, dan evaluasi pembelajaran Komputer Terapan II terjadi peningkatan. Pada akhir penelitian ini terdapat lebih dari 75% mahasiswa antusias dalam mengikuti pembelajaran Komputer Terapan II. Implikasinya dosen hendaknya menciptakan komunitas belajar untuk membuat situasi komunikasi lebih hidup antarmahasiswa dan mahasiswa dengan dosen. Kata Kunci: peer teaching, komputer terapan, antusias belajar Abstract: This research aims to improve the student enthusiasm in second computer applied subject through the application of Peer Teaching methods. This research approach is classroom action research with model developed by Kemmis and Mc Taggart. The subjects of the reseach were the III grade students with 20 students. The research is consist of two cycles with two times meetings in each cycle. Data collection techniques use observation, test results and documentation. Dat analysis tecniques using quantitative descriptive. The result of the reseach showed that the application of peer teaching learning methods in second applied computer courses could increase student lerning enthusiasm. The average percentage in the form of student attitudes towards the learning process, material, lecturer’s way of delivering material, understanding and evaluation of second apllied computer learning has increased.In this reseach, there were 75% enthusiastic students in participating in second applied computer learning using the peer teaching method. The implication is that lecturers should create a learning community to make learning communication situations livelier between students and students with lecturers.
