COMPOUND WORDS IN SONG LYRICS OF WESTLIFE UNBREAKABLE V1 GREATEST HITS ALBUM BEGINNING 1999-2002

Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini difokuskan untuk meneliti jenis kata majemuk dan makna kontekstual dari kata majemuk dalam Lirik Lagu Westlife Unbreakable V1 Greatest Hits Album Awal 1999-2002. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif. Objeknya adalah 20 Lagu. Langkah-langkah analisis data adalah identifikasi, klasifikasi dan deskripsi. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa ada tiga jenis kata majemuk. Mereka lima puluh tiga kata dikategorikan sebagai endosentris, tujuh belas kata dikategorikan sebagai eksosentris, dan dua puluh delapan kata dikategorikan sebagai copulative.. Abstract : This study focused to investigate types of compound word and contextual meaning of compound words in the Song Lyrics of Westlife Unbreakable V1 Greatest Hits Album Beginning 1999-2002. This study applied the descriptive quantitative research. The objects were 20 Songs. The steps of data analyzing were identification, classification and description. The findings proved that there were three types of compound words. They were fifty three words categorized as the endocentric, seventeen words categorized as exocentric, and twenty eight words categorized as copulative.
